ASPEN stands for Asian Society for Precision Engineering and Nanotechnology.
The Asian Society for Precision Engineering and Nanotechnology has been organized as a union of academic and industrial societies in Asian region to promote network and collaboration among industrialists, scientists and researchers in Asia.
In 2007, in Gwangju, the name of conference was delcared as "International Conference of Asian Society for Precision Engineering and Nanotechnology" and has been held since ASPEN 2009 as the this conference title.
